Let’s face it, coatings are intended to make your paint look amazing for a long period of time eliminating the need to wax. Most coatings do nothing more than add gloss and make the paint bead water. It’s imperative to start with clean paint in order for the coating to bond properly. At minimum this is a wash and clay treatment. Use of iron removers and fallout removers are recommended.

Correct and Perfect!

Use the best methods to improve the paint without use of fillers. Do not use one step or All In One polishes. You want to remove flaws and defects.

Clean Paint

Mist and wipe silicone remover over all areas to coat. Paint will not feel slick after the final wipe and that’s good.. After correction is done, ensure the paint is completely free of oils and silicones. IPA aka isopropyl alcohol mixed with water is NOT sufficient. Our silicone remover is easy and fast to use.

Coat It!

Using a suede microfiber applicator or microfiber sponge applicator, apply a liberal amount of product, let sit for at least one minute, then buff off.

    Fix Required Wetsanding

    The owner of this motorcycle wanted to remove a coating he applied. The manufacturer said the only way to fix it was to wet sand it off. This was a very expensive and time consuming process. Applying a coating requires knowledge to prep paint as well as improve it before applying the coating. This is why we do NOT recommend coatings if you don’t do paint corrections. This applies to vinyl and tint shops that are looking for a product to protect paint.
  • Why Can’t I Use IPA?
    IPA or isopropyl alcohol known as rubbing alcohol mixed with water has been the “standard” way by detailers to prep paint for a very long time. However it turns out its a lousy way to prep paint both in terms of effectiveness, and being gentle to the painted surfaces. It also can affect the ease of application of the coating.
